Today is the time of social networking websites. Peoples are opening social networking more than email websites. Myspace, Facebook and Orkut and most popular social networking now these days.

Facebook is gaining much popularity than other social networking websites. Its growth rate was 69.5% last year. Facebook is a free social networking website found by Mark Zuckerberg a student of Harvard University. Facebook was launched on February, 2004. Facebook has 175 million active users.

Orkut was launched by Google as independent project of Orkut Büyükkökten , a Turkish software engineer on January 22, 2004. Orkut is most popular in Brazil and India.

Which one is best Facebook or Orkut?

Peoples have different views about both social networking websites. Following are the some facts and features of both social networking websites.

  • Facebook is more professional than Orkut.
  • Orkut is famous in Brazil and India while Facebook is in USA.
  • Facebook increased its user by 69.5% while Orkut decreased by 7.7%.
  • More friend request in short time than Orkut.

  • You can see friends of friend in Orkut while not in Facebook.
  • No. of times profile visited, Google Chat but not in Facebook.

Both have different features. Facebook was much popular due to “Facebook Breastfeeding Issue”. Social Networking sites are banned mostly in offices, School, Colleges Etc. Because it wastes lots of time. Its like a virus for Online working peoples and students.

Facebook announced “Mom Breastfeeding” pictures will be treat as adult pictures and violation of our terms. So, delete the “Mom Breastfeeding” pictures from the Facebook. USA mom takes action against it. Because to show the pictures of baby feed is not porn. This made the Facebook much popular.
